Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show is delighted and honoured to be supporting Refuweegee as our new charitable partner for 2021/2022. Refuweegee has led the way in welcoming displaced people to Glasgow and Scotland, their charity name being at the heart of the work they do - a Refuweegee is someone who upon arrival in Glasgow is embraced by the people of the city, a person considered to be local.

Since 2015 Refuweegee has created and donated over 10,000 welcome and emergency packs to arriving refugees and asylum seekers, extending open arms to those in need.

As the struggles of displaced people has returned to our news feeds recently we are reminded of the imminent support needed for displaced people. GUCFS recognise the need to raise awareness for this group, and the importance of welcoming and embracing them into our community.
