Future Ready GSF is raising money for GSK - Save the Children partnership

GSF Future Ready Challenge · 20 September 2021

Helping to save one million children's lives

Story

Since 1 June, according to the UN, over 80,000 children have been displaced by the conflict in Afghanistan. Even before the Taliban takeover, Afghanistan was crippled by hunger and poverty as COVID-19, conflict, and drought combined to create a food crisis on a scale not previously seen.

Throughout October, we’ve been clocking up the kilometres with the target of 5,707km – the equivalent number of kilometres it would take a refugee to walk from Kabul to London. We’ve already blitzed our km target but now we need your help to reach our fundraising target.

Even though the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan has fallen out of the news cycle, it’s still very much the reality for the children living there.

Save the Children UK has been working in Afghanistan since 1976 to deliver lifesaving services to children and their families across the country. They provide health, education, child protection, nutrition and livelihoods services, and reached over 1.6 million Afghans in 2020. Their  Emergency Fund allows them to be on the ground within hours of a disaster striking, so they can start helping children immediately.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
