Story
Hi, I'm Gemma a 29 Year old above knee amputee who will be embarking on a 300KM London to Paris bike ride in just 3 days. This will be taking place on the 30th September 2011.
I am doing the bike ride with a team of amputees and we are all raising money for 3 charities. These are Limbpower, Douglas Badar Foundation & Limbless Association.
I feel very passionate about raising money & awareness for these fantastic charities.
After loosing my leg at the age of 14 due to a road traffic accident, it was hard to see what my future held. But due to charities like these, there is hope & a positive future to be had.
Having been the 1st female in the UK & youngest in the world to have had the pioneering surgery (Osseo-Integration), this bike ride will be a huge milestone for me, and for the future of amputees.
