On Sunday 27th February 2022, the Millside Centre celebrated its 5th birthday! So, to mark this momentous occasion, they are running a fundraising appeal which I am taking part in, to encourage people to donate towards the amazing work that takes place there.

I have decided to team up with a few friends and do what I love to do the most, which is to sing my heart out. I've challenged myself to sing for 90 mins, bringing some well known and new songs for your entertainment. The gig will be livestreamed from the Millside Centre on our Facebook Page on Friday 1st April from 12:30pm -2pm and I hope it'll be a lunch time treat for you all to enjoy. I am really looking forward to interacting with you all on the day and sharing some of my favourite songs with you, songs that speak of strength, courage and resilience in trying times but also some feel-good songs which I hope will get you singing and dancing too. 

I am also extremely excited to be sharing stories and quotes from service users, telling you all about the work that goes on here in partnership and collaboration with some amazing organisations during the short intervals. I am so incredibly blessed and privileged to manage the Millside Centre over the last 5 years and have seen the space transform from a derelict space before it was renovated to it becoming a thriving, warm and welcoming community space serving the needs of people in our community here in the city of Bradford. What humbles me the most is seeing how our services has truly transformed so many people's lives for good and it is an honour to have played a small role in this.

The Millside Centre is a community centre based in Bradford city centre. Working alongside local partners, other charities and agencies, they have created a safe and welcoming space where some of the most vulnerable people in the city find the help and services they need. Your generous donation towards £2,000 will help towards the core costs of running activities, volunteer expenses, travel costs for vulnerable service users, paying sessional workers and more.
