Story
Most of you know Waqar Khan from his ongoing community and charity work. For some time now Waqar has been tested in his health. Diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that affected his liver, he required a transplant. There were complications from the procedure for which he was recently hospitalized for a prolonged period. Alhamdulillah, he has been discharged and is home again with his family.
As Sadaqah Jariyah we have set up this page to collect donations on behalf of Waqar. We hope to raise $5000 towards the medical training of a nurse in Yemen and a midwife in rural Pakistan. These donations will not only empower these two women but also benefit their communities. Please donate what you can to this worthy cause and keep Waqar in your duas. May Allah (swt) cure him and allow him to continue to work for His sake.
The Medical Training of a Nurse in Yemen
As a part of this sadaqah, we will sponsor one woman to take part in IDRF's 4-month Respiratory Therapist training program in Mukalla City, Yemen. This program will provide this woman with specialized training approved by the Ministry of Health, in which upon successful completion of the training program, she will be certified be guaranteed a job by local healthcare institutions.
The Midwifery Training in Pakistan
The second half of our fundraising will go to sponsoring a woman in the Tharparkar region in Pakistan to become a midwife. She will be given the funds to enter a 2-year midwifery training program in Karachi so that upon completion, she will be able to safely tend to the needs of her community in Tharparkar. She will be certified to handle delivery of children, and support to new mothers in her village.
