Fundraising for St Christopher's Hospice
Seeing as this summer has been a bit on the dull side, I thought my 21st birthday was the perfect excuse to do something crazy that i’ve wanted to for years. On the 10th September, the day after my birthday, i’ll be jumping out of a plane at Headcorn aerodrome to raise money for St. Christopher’s Hospice.
St. Christopher’s Hospice are a charity that have been close to our hearts since they looked after my wonderful grandma during her battle with melanoma back in 2010. The hospice provide palliative care in and around South East London with the aim to keep as many patients comfortable at home with their loved ones as possible. As well as having an inpatient unit, just a few of their other services include community nursing, emotional wellbeing services for both patients and family, bereavement support and young adult groups.
With mum now working hard as a fundraiser for them, the whole family often get roped into helping at events but I thought it’s now time to step it up and do something bigger. After Covid has taken a big hit on their income, with key fundraising events being cancelled and charity shops shut, support couldn’t be more important.
Any donation (no matter how small) is greatly appreciated so they can continue carrying out their amazing work :)
