The Air Ambulance Service has flown more than 35,000 missions in the fight to save lives making it one of the busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK.   Franklands have chosen The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance Service to be their charity of the year for 2019 and 2020.   The Air Ambulance Service completed 3,933 missions in 2019 alone.

The service receives no Government, or National Lottery funding.  Each mission costs £1,700 and in excess, so public and business donations are essential to keep their air ambulances operational and as one of the missions flown in 2018 was in response to a tragedy within the Franklands’ family, the decision to raise money for the service was a unanimous decision.

Orangetheory Fitness, has kindly offered the services of their professional coaches and use of their studio and equipment for the challenge, which will require Franklands staff to cover a distance of 273 miles over four hours.  This equates to the total number of hours flown by the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance Service in 2019.
