Story

Ava Lyons says ‘As Breda snips Fr Rorys clips, it’ll be a treat for Temple Street!’

Ava Lyons and her brother Finn tragically lost their beautiful, fun loving, brother Adam in a road traffic accident at the end of June. Adam and his family received wonderful care and kindness from the staff at Temple Street Children’s Hospital. So much so that amazing Ava (aged 11yrs!) immediately decided she wanted to do something to help the hospital.

She started her fundraising journey by inviting people to make donations at Adam’s funeral, but she didn’t stop there. Her bravery, kindness and motivation spurred on the Borris Parish Priest Fr. Rory Nolan to try to be brave like Ava. Fr. Rory is going to shave his head for her fundraiser. Update: Tony Murray, our local tenor and drama king is joining Fr. Rory for a full head and face shave - see the comment below!

So this JustGiving page in Adam’s memory gives you the opportunity to support Ava’s “Shave the Brave” fundraiser by donating here to Temple Street Foundation.

The event will take place on Monday August 3rd from 4pm - 6pm in Borris Town Hall. Due to Covid restrictions it will be live streamed on Facebook. We've created an Event on the Borris Town Hall facebook page that you can use to find the livestream on the day, and learn more about logistics for the day, see https://www.facebook.com/TownHallBorris  and https://www.facebook.com/events/1134306840284746
