I am walking the South Downs Way over 7 days with my best friend Bully from the 14th-20th August. The trail runs for 160 km from Winchester in Hampshire to Eastbourne in East Sussex, with about 4,150 m of ascent and descent. We will be walking between 20-30km a day.
Our boys due date will fall on the week I am walking. Sadly they were born at just 23 weeks and only stayed with us for a few hours.
Growing up on the south downs, and never having done the full walk, it felt an appropriate tribute to our twin boys Kit and Archie. Somewhere I would have loved to walk with them.
From the moment Rosalind and I found out we were having twins, Twins Trust has been a valuable resource. Finding ourselves in the unique position of a multiple pregnancy was daunting but exciting, and had things turned out differently we know the support they provide when raising twins is really important. Since we lost the boys, Twins Trust has helped us with our grief through the Twins Trust bereavement support, helping us connect with people in the same situation and providing specific advice and support for dealing with a loss like ours.
