Story
I don't want to be too emosh/dramatic but I can honestly say that getting involved with Just Love as a student totally transformed my life in that:
- It breathed life into my faith in Jesus (making him 3D lol)
- I connected my longing for justice with my faith (for the first time)
- It connected me with like-minded students (#pals) from across the UK
- I was developed in my leadership and communication skills
- It gave me confidence to seek change in Glasgow and beyond
- It's influenced my lifestyle decisions and where I want to live #communitylivingforthewin
I've had the a b s o l u t e privilege of working for Just Love since I graduated, pioneering its work across Scotland. Since I started my role in 2017, we've grown to 5 groups up here and the students I've worked with have:
- Had over 3,700 people attend their events
- Raised over £7,300 for other charities
- Given over 900 volunteering hours to local projects
This summer I'm planning on moving on from my role (to pastures yet unknown) BUT I believe in Just Love's vision more than ever!
As one of the final things I do for Just Love, I'm raising money as part of their £2020 for 2020 Challenge. I'm so excited to see where this movement will go next! #thelasthurrah
To make things a bit more fun, I'm asking people who sponsor me to suggest costumes and challenges that I can complete for each mile of the challenge. If you want to sponsor and have an idea then you can add to it via this spreadsheet link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12SUqaggo6AEiGK-VTBRVgNHThKkVZXUpMTJkPrw6p8w/edit#gid=0
