FACE as a local charity have been supporting the Filton community through coordinating a volunteer response to our neighbours and a helpline for those self-isolating.

We know that things are still difficult as some elderly or shielded people struggle to access shops and community groups, and for some they will be living on less income due to furlough, redundancy, or lack of work,. We know that money and confidence may be really low for some people despite 'lockdown' being over.

Food banks can support those with ongoing financial difficulties only, but we know they are already overrun.

We don’t want people to feel they have to put themselves at risk to get shopping from larger shops, or struggle to put food on the table. 

We don't want people to have to choose between feeding their family or cleaning their house. 

We also we want to build people's confidence to get out and about gradually. 

Therefore FACE is providing a community store in their foyer with access to food, toiletries and household goods, and all being asked for is donations in return from those who can give.

We are also now providing packed lunches during half term in October, as well as planning to provide mini-Christmas hampers for those people / families who will need more support over Christmas when many organisations will be closed.

FACE as a charity itself can not afford to help everyone in this way without some help from those who are able to contribute more. We need to still pay our bills despite not being able to provide our usual weekly youth and community activities.
