In November 2019, we attended an awareness dinner regarding the ongoing plight of the internally displaced people in Idlib Syria, and I could not help but to pledge 10K. I did not have 10K. However, from previous experience, I  knew with the help of Allah(swt), we can come together as a community in good deed and raise this amount with a fund raising Iftar, that we so enjoy.  The fund-raising iftar was set for 'Saturday 2nd May 2020, at the Royal Nawab, in London.  Sadly due to the lockdown this had to be cancelled. 

Regardless of the lockdown, I knew with the help of Allah(swt) we can still help the Internally displaced people and refugees of Syria, by donating any amount of our zakaat, sadaqa or lillah,to providing water, food and shelter to the neediest. What better month to give our zakaat,sadaqa and lillah to provide for the fasting than in this beautiful month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is a month of reflection.  We are grateful to the Almighty for the blessings of life's essentials of, water to quench our thirst, food in our stomach, roof over our head, and clothes on our back.
