Story
Wow… what a tough couple of months it has been. At Fairfax & Favor we sincerely hope that you are all keeping well, and are not climbing (or, even worse, talking to) the walls of your homes.
Like so many others before us, we wanted to extend a thank you to those frontline workers risking their health, many of whom are isolated from their families, while we are able to shelter ourselves inside with loved ones. So, for the month of April, we donated 10% of all our online sales to the NHS Covid-19 Urgent Appeal Fund.
This Urgent Appeal fundraises grants for NHS Charities Together, a collective organisation which aims to provide blanket support to NHS staff, volunteers, and patients through various measures. Some of these include:
- covering travel and accommodation expenses
- wellbeing packs (food deliveries, high energy/protein bars/drinks, refreshments, wash kits, overnight stay kits etc.)
- electronic tablets for isolated patients to communicate to loved ones
- rest and recuperation rooms
- resource long-term mental health support from staff and families involved
We are proud to have raised a total of £(announcing soon) and that is entirely down to all of you, so THANK YOU! But we’re not going to stop there. Recently, our ear has been pressed to the social media floor, and after publishing a short Facebook survey, it subsequently revealed that a limited-edition NHS tassel was in ultra-high demand. The people had spoken! In the coming month we will release a two-tone blue and white suede tassel; keep an eye out on the website for their anticipated release.
The NHS tassel will retail at £25.00 and 100% of the profits will go towards the NHS Urgent Appeal Fund. If any of you remember our pink tassels for Breast Cancer Care, then this NHS edition will work in much the same way. By working together to support those in need, we are all playing a small part in making a difference to the lives of our NHS heroes and the patients they care for.
We recognise that we are very much standing on the shoulders of giants like the incredible Captain Tom Moore, whose 100th birthday the nation celebrated this Thursday 30th April. Watching the number on his JustGiving page grow past a staggering £30 million has been a top-10 heart-warming quarantine activity. What a hero!
We know times are hard, but we want to thank you for continuing to show your support for F&F. Without you, these donations would not be possible so give yourself a pat on the back (in the form of a stunning blue and white tassel). We love hearing from you so please keep tagging #fairfaxandfavor in your socials.
