Story
One day a friend explained me in summary what losing your sight means, as he was gradually happening to him. One day I was told about one of my friend's young daughter was going through the same experience. As Vicky is slowly going blind, many other children like her - and their families - need all our support, prays and hopes for a brighter future.
She has been diagnosed with Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) a severe form of degenerative eye disease progressively leading children to blindness by their late teens/ early twenties. LCA is rare and there is NO cure.
Vicky's parents along with other kids parents are working directly with researchers. Specifically right now they are funding a 3 year research project led by University College London and Moorfields Eye Hospital (the leading eye hospital in Europe). The project is testing therapies to potentially slow down the progression of the condition and allow children to see the beautiful world around us for longer.
There is real hope that we could save her sight and that of many other children. But we need to act fast to make the research run faster than that the disease.
No child deserves a future in the dark. Together we can make a significant contribution to advance the research. Thanks for your generous donation!
