Every year we try to live on £1.00 a day (each) for one week. It's not real poverty but it IS a real challenge and gives us real insight.

We are really strict with ourselves.  No borrowing from the store cupboards (except salt) or the garden.  This year there are only three of us at home so we have less money than in other years. Plus some of the food seems scarce and more expensive
