This past semester, I had the opportunity to intern at the Quantum House in West Palm Beach. Quantum House is a caring and supportive home that lessens the burden for families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for a serious medical condition. During my internship, I gained insight into how a not-for-profit operates and learned many new skills. One of the best parts of my internship has been getting to know the families. No matter what obstacles these kids face, I am always greeted with smiles. All house families come from different backgrounds and are facing complex challenges. Quantum house allows the kids to be kids despite what is going on with doctors and allows the parents to connect with other families sharing the same common goal- they'll do anything to see their child get better.

Quantum House relies on volunteers and donations to make the house run smoothly. Before my internship ends, I want to raise $2500.00, so I can leave Quantum House with more than just a memory of me. The Family Subsidy Program allows families to be close while reducing stress and worry. Your donation to the house means the cost isn't a barrier to staying. Families are asked to contribute $40 per night, but no family is turned away due to an inability to pay.
