Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed at the age of 16 with an inherited progressive condition called Stargardts Disease. This disease causes the destruction of part of the retina at the back of my eyes robbing me of my central forward vision. This makes simple things like recognising peoples faces or even being able to read a book very difficult.
I have a passion for sport and despite this setback I have managed to gain a place a Loughborough University in 2020 studying Sport & Exercise Science.
Currently there is no treatment or cure for this disease although studies and trials are happening around the world to try to find therapies which can cure this condition, including some exiting developments in the field of stem cell research.
I have set up this page to try to raise funds for the Stargardts Connected Charity. This fantastic charity's mission is to raise awareness of this disease, to provide support for those affected and ultimately to seek a cure.
