This page is set up in memory of Florence Evelyn Frier - always known as Evelyn.

Evelyn will be terribly missed by her husband Don, her children Anne and Neil, her four grandchildren (Celia, Aaron, Phoebe and Aidan) and the many more lives she touched as she went about her bustling social schedule in South Shields. Evelyn was a remarkably fit and active 87-year-old and very much enjoyed life, always arm in arm with her beloved husband of 62 years. The secret to their long-lasting marriage, they said, was friendship and mutual deafness!

Evelyn did not want flowers at her funeral but if people wish to make a gesture, she would have appreciated a donation to a charity close to her heart: Target Ovarian Cancer.

South Shields has lost one of its friendliest souls.
