We have been so blessed to be able to continue participating in half marathons despite the broken bones!!! Let's hope the halves can continue into 2025!
~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Getting to 95 official half marathons has taken me and Mark nearly eight years with the last two years completing a half marathon every other week, a total of 26 halves last year.
I am one of 244 members of the 100 Half Marathon Club. With only 24 female members currently at or above the goal of 100 halves.
Here goes for the final five halves!!!
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~For the last SIX years I have been running a half marathon a month, last year I participated in a half every other week, a total of 24 halves. I will be starting 2022 on half marathon 86!!This year I have chosen the charity Leukaemia UK to encourage my little friend Lyndsay through her treatment and beyond. I trust that this charity will use the monies raised to help fund ground-breaking research and care for those affected by Leukaemia and other blood cancers. Last year I wrote that each half marathon is just as hard as the last. In fact it is getting harder and harder. The half marathons are not getting any easier it seems to be quite the opposite; my little body is getting older too, as I am now 49 years old. Each of these halves requires effort, commitment, time, training, nutrition and most importantly recovery. A special thank you to my domestique; Mark for his unfailing commitment to support me everywhere I get a half marathon place.C13
