A Note from Kate about Thistle Farms:

My mom was probably the single most powerful force in my life. She was fierce, funny, and compassionate. In her last year, she fought a hard battle -- but she did it with tenacity, grit, and a courage I'm not even sure she knew she had. I miss her more than words would say.

This organization means a lot to me because lives are actually being changed here. Women who fought their own battles -- though different from mom's -- are finding hope and healing. Then, they turn around and offer it to others. The goods they make support not only the work of Thistle Farms, but women all over the globe struggling in poverty, cancer survivors, and all those suffering their own battles.

Mom wasn't given the time to find healing in her body, but had she -- I know she would have found a way to turn around and be a hand of healing to someone else. Mom never cared what I did in life or even what I believed, so long as what I choose was for the good of someone else.
