#EndStigmaStrangerSelfie
I'm Lucy and I'm 25 from Bolton. I am a long term sufferer of mental health problems and now I feel I am ready to help others. So I'm following the footsteps of my friend Paul, who is currently raising money for Cancer Research in his Stranger Selfie Challenge. For 30 days, starting from 11-09-2014, we will get a selfie, with a stranger, in order to get sponsorship and raise awareness of our chosen charities. I have chosen MIND as I have struggled daily with mental health problems, from crippling anxiety where I literally cant face anyone, panic attacks where I was having 3 to 4 a day, to depression where I wont leave my house. I have had help and support through all of this so I would love to help others by sharing my story, and raising some cash in the process. Plus I love a good selfie :)
There is still a stigma attached to mental health and there shouldn't be. So on each of my selfies I am going to give out information about mental health and where to get help, and even encourage people to talk to me if they feel they want to.
Im going to keep updating this page, going to get on twitter and facebook etc :)
My mega aim is to have a selfie with MINDs president, Stephen Fry!
