Story

Emma wasn't just our daughter; she was our very best friend, like she was to so many others.  She could make us laugh with just one word and always had something funny to say.  Emma was always the life and soul of the party - a real chatterbox!

Family meant the world to Emma; she always loved spending time with us all and made every effort to see us as much as possible.

Emma 'went for it' in everything she did.  She gained a degree in Criminology and got a great job with the criminal justice department - through her job she made many new friends who all loved her too.  Even though she knew them for only a short time they still haven't forgotten her.

Emma was vivacious with her long blonde hair and her own unique style.  She was never understated with her glitzy eyes and false eyelashes and her trendy clothes - she was stunningly beautiful.

Emma was so dignified and brave during her illness, taking everything day by day with great courage always hoping that a miracle would happen.  Emma worried more about the effect cancer had on her family more than what she was going through.  The Emma Gyles bursary will help continue research into ovarian cancer and as her parents we hope that this work will help other young women in the future.

Emma was the loveliest girl in the world and we are so proud that she was our daughter.
