Story
Welcome welcome to my page. Thanks for making it here.
I am rowing the Rhine Marathon, running the London Marathon and running an ultra trail marathon (50km), swimming a mile in the Serpentine; whilst trying to run 1000 miles in 2016 for a very special little boy. Cooper was born with a very rare condition which led him to be treated in the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Far from home & needing to be by her son, Sarah was looked after by the Ronald McDonald House and put up in their accommodation for the duration of her stay.
The events calendar looks a bit like this:
- Rhine Marathon - 3rd October 2015
- London Marathon - 24th April 2016
- Race to the Stones (50k) - 17th July 2016
- Swim Serpentine - 24th September 2016
These houses create a home from home; with a private room that is walking distance from the children's ward. Sarah was able to be only a stones throw from her son and had the comfort of knowing that she did not have to find money each week to stay there, whilst still paying her own mortgage at home.
The Manchester house costs £600,000 each year to stay open to those who need it, which is HUGE. I want to make a small but meaningful dent in this figure by doing these events this year and next.
Cooper is such a special boy and without their help, it could have been an even more traumatic time for both mother and son.
Thank you for reading, helping & supporting such an incredible cause. You make my heart sing! x
