We are Colostomy UK. Here if you have questions, need support or want to talk to someone who lives with a stoma. Your voice on the bigger issues: advocates for your rights & campaigning to raise awareness of what matters to you; running projects to empower & building communities to support you.

Story

I was diagnosed with Crohns/Colitis in August 2001.  Since that time I have had many trips to theatre (around 19).   In October 2018 I had major bowel surgery yet again.  This time I had a permanent illiostomy (stoma bag).

My dream is to live my best life and to dream of a better world.

I would like to thank many people on this journey, my children and also Mr Soop my surgeon for giving me my quality of life back.

I volunteer for The Children's Society,  Crohns & Colitis South Manchester and I am a committee member of a local running club.

I love to run and dance (rave)  such an important part of my healing journey here  - last year 2019 was a successful year and within 12months of stoma surgery I completed a 10k, 2 half marathons,  4 marathons and a 62 mile ultra.

I am very passionate about the human race, human rights and bringing positive change.  I am also a survivor of PTSD.   My mission here is to show many people and young people how to create their best possible life and fullfill their dreams despite adversity.

So, 2020 goals -  Manchester Marathon / Everest Bascamp and lots of mountain training and ultras thrown in.
