Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Back in September 2014 Mel mentioned that she would like to train for the Great North Run in 2015. I immediately said that I would join her so we started training. We ran together and separately for the rest of 2014. Now it is 2015 and we have had an extended Christmas break but are getting back into it, especially as we have paid our fees and are now booked, no turning back. Check out my blog for the highs and lows of running: http://fullfattofullfit.blogspot.co.uk/
Mel currently works at the Butterwick and I have previously volunteered for them. They are an amazing charity. Their mission is to care for as many people as possible of all ages who are living with a progressive life limiting illness. All services are provided free of charge to those diagnosed and their loved ones. They have three hospices, one in Butterwick Hospice in Stockton, Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland and the Butterwick House Children's Hospice in Stockton.
Aside from raising money for the Butterwick, I want to do this for personal reasons. Mainly, I don't want to die early like my Mum. I want to see my kids grow up and have children of their own. This really is a challenge. I'm not a fit person so to set a goal like this is pretty crazy. That is why I need all the encouragement I can get get. so come on. Show me that all this hard work will pay off. Donate as little or as much as you can. The Butterwick will be very grateful as will I.
