If you’re in the UK appalled by how America’s STILL lynching black people you can start by supporting organisations and charities here in the UK to end racism. Racism is everywhere. If you’re white then you’ve said/done/thought something racist or rooted in racism, however overt or not. However aware or not. It’s our DUTY to become more aware. Look outside of what just directly affects YOU. If you want to be an ally, and truly care, you have to back that up with your actions. Do your research, look at history, LOOK AROUND YOU. Ask questions, call out anyone who says something when nobody of colour is around. Educate, ask questions. I notice people are scared to ask or say anything in case they say the wrong thing. Time to get over that. Be willing to go further and do more. You have to BE an ally. You can’t just say you’re one. There’s a huge different between saying you’re an ally and being an ally. You can’t just put your fingers in your ears and close your eyes and pretend this shit doesn’t exist. You’re not serving anyone by doing that.. You’re not serving this world by doing that. Take a long look at yourself and ask yourself what you’re actively doing to end racism. That being said: I want to do more and I must do more. I am always open to hearing more ways that I can help. This is merely a starting point. And one step in many steps that are needed to dismantle racism in all forms, all over the world.
