We are there for heart families to provide support at every stage

Story

Our father, James (Jim) Friend, was extremely proud of all his family.

One of his grandsons, George, was born in 1996 with a heart condition called “ventricular septal defect with overriding aorta”. We were told that without corrective surgery he wouldn’t live to see his first birthday. At six months old George had open heart surgery at St Thomas Hospital, London. For everyone who has met George you can see the operation was a resounding success! George is now 24 years old, and unless you knew about his history you certainly couldn’t guess what he has been through.

As a family we have always tried to support Evelina, without them we wouldn’t have George with us, and Dad's wishes were that he would prefer people make a donation to this amazing charity rather then send flowers.
