We manage Wimbledon and Putney Commons to preserve it as a natural open space
Story
Carol and Caroline organised their first Sponsored Ride in 1975 when still in Pony Club. That year they were thrilled to raise £550 for Cancer Research. Since then the ride has gone from strength to strength and hundreds of thousands of pounds has been raised for many different charities. The Ride used to be a huge event and in 1988 250 horses took part and over £25,000 was raised for the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. When Foot and Mouth struck in 2007 the format of the ride had to change and it became exclusively for WVS horses. It is the longest running, most successful sponsored ride in the country, raising nearly £1 million over the years.
