Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've decided to run the Brighton Marathon for 2021 (insane, I know), in memory of my friend Hannah Bampfylde-Ray.
Anyone who knows me will think I've gone crazy, I never run, more often than not you'll see me on my bike.
I needed to set myself a challenge though, something that would push me both mentally and physically in a positive way.
My friend Hannah was an avid gym-goer, a fitness fanatic, a personal trainer and a real brainbox. I knew Hannah for a long time, we worked together at Waitrose and she took me under her wing when I first started at the young age of 18.
Hannah was a really special friend, she always knew how to make you laugh and had such a wicked, dry sense of humour (although you were normally the butt of the joke)!
Han studied sports science at Brighton University, I felt so honoured that she asked me to watch her graduate here, it seemed only fitting that I ran the marathon here.
On 14th April 2020, Hannah sadly took her life, she had been struggling with depression and Bipolar, both long-term mental health illnesses.
Mind is a mental health charity that offer information and advice to people with mental health illness. It's a charity close to my heart and a charity close to Hannah, her mum, Louise, and her brother, Alex.
I am planning on tracking my progress here as I reach my training milestones and I would appreciate any donations - little or large - for this amazing charity.
