Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 10th May 2015, I will be doing the Great Manchester Run for the first time. I'm raising money for Tommy's - the baby charity. This charity means a lot to me on a very personal level. Their tagline is:
"We exist to save babies lives by funding research and providing information on the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth."
I know only too well what the heartbreak of losing a baby is like. In November 2014, I lost my baby in the second trimester of pregnancy. It's very difficult to explain the sense of loss that a woman experiences during this harrowing time, however, anyone who has lost someone they love can understand - but can you imagine loving someone you have never met? Taking their side and vowing to love and protect them for the rest of your life... and THEN losing them, without being able to hold them or kiss them goodbye?
It was the hardest thing I have ever been through in my entire life and I doubt I will go through anything as difficult again.
So, in May 2014, instead of bringing my baby into the world and taking him home with me, I will be taking part in the Great Manchester Run.
I aim to raise £500 to donate to Tommy's. Their work is so important - it's saving the life of babies. I can't think of anything more important than that. Their work exists so that hopefully, one day, women can wee on a stick and think, 'Ahh, I'm having a baby, what a wonderful stress-free nine months I am going to have'.
What a wonderful world we would live in if a woman could make a baby, grow a baby and bring that baby home... every time.
