I will be running the Inflatable 5K for Sanctus - the homeless charity based in Chelmsford - on 21.06.2021. This year has been extremely difficult for everyone however there are around 280,000 people in England without homes at all. Any amount can help provide people with support, food and somewhere warm to visit as we reach the most dangerous time of year for them.

In 2019 alone they:

• Over 22,000 items (sandwiches, pies etc) which would have gone to waste were collected from local Chelmsford businesses’ and given away in the café.
• Served over 18,300 free meals all cooked fresh and provided within a warm and secure environment.
  
• Increased their free counselling, advice and advocacy to support life changes and improvement. In 2019 Sanctus completed over 1,100 sessions. The importance and outcomes from these sessions cannot be overestimated. Just one session may mean that someone completes a benefits form, reobtains their ID, decides against drastic steps or receives help or advice with their challenges. These all help to progress or further progress their journey in a positive way.
• Provided essentials - over 150 people obtained clothes and sanitary products from Sanctus in 2019,  over 70 people were provided with tents, sleeping bags and other items,   30 plus people were provided with kitchen goods, furniture and other items for their new homes.
• 11 different agencies utilised the Sanctus space to offer their services to the vulnerable of Chelmsford creating a true eco-system of outcomes.
• Sanctus assisted in the re-housing of scores of individuals, 26 individuals were directly re-housed and numerous evictions prevented.
