Story
As a young woman living in Prague, Mum was passionate about its culture and loved to spend her evenings attending classical concerts in the many Art Deco and Art Nouveau buildings therein. In later life her passion was her grandchildren! And so, when the boys learned the guitar and cello, and Luca became a Croydon Minster chorister, Mum was delighted.
Croydon Minster is a gothic revival gem nestling in the heart of Croydon serving one of England's most deprived parishes. The choir, directed by Dr Ronny Krippner, is open to all religions. Importantly, it provides children of the local community with an outstanding musical education.
Mum loved choral music and often sang and read in the family's local church in Bzince Pod Javorinou. She was too unwell to see Luca sing in Croydon Minster however she did so at home and, whenever I hear this incredible choir, I think of her.
