Story
My Bat-Mitzvah is a commemoration of my passage into adulthood, one in which I attain all the rights and obligations of a Jewish adult. As I embark on this passage, I believe that it is my responsibility, as a Jewish adult, to help others in need, and I have chosen to do so by supporting the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) through the Friends of the IDF (FIDF) organization.
The work of FIDF is important to me because they provide for the soldiers who protect Israel. It is important to show our support for Israel, especially for these heroic soldiers.
For my Bat-Mitzvah project, I have decided to raise money to support the wellbeing needs of the men and women of the IDF through the FIDF.
The FIDF provides many services, including:
Education - Provides high school and college education
Lone Soldiers - Supports soldiers who have left their home countries and families to join the IDF
Financial Relief - Provides financial relief to soldiers and their families in need
Fallen and Wounded - Provides support services to wounded soldiers and families of fallen soldiers
Adopt a Unit - Provides morale boosts for units in the most demanding mental situations
Construction - Provides homes, recreation and sport centers, synagogues, and other needed facilities
I hope you will join me in donating to my Bat-Mitzvah project and giving these soldiers whatever they need as they protect our home, Israel.
