Story
When I'm not staying safe with my tow float in the lakes and rivers around Amsterdam, I'm painting. I gift the paintings and this page is helpful when recipients are moved to donate. JustGiving send the money directly to Level Water and, together we are helping to fund swimming lessons for children with special needs.
For the first two years of the pandemic, I was sewing... making masks.
Mask making began as a useful way to use up the scraps left over from my dressmaking. I sourced anti-bacterial fabric and non-woven interfacing from Germany as a middle filter layer. I share the masks with people who wish, or need, to use them. All masks have 3 layers and the fabrics are (mostly) 100% cotton, cotton flannel, linen and liberty print. I've even got pin stripe to raise a smile in the City... and the art prints (Picasso, Van Gogh, Klimt, Miro, Rembrandt etc) are fabulous. Adult masks have a wire nose piece, just like in disposable masks.
If you wear one of these masks, then take care to adjust to fit and form a seal so that you are breathing through the fabric and not the gaps around the edges. Wash after each use with your delicates 😊
My challenge is to recycle, repurpose and reduce landfill... and spread the joy of having fun in water.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
