Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am genuinely grateful for any donation, no matter what it is and I know my chosen charity, Restored, shares the sentiment.
I ran the 2021 Virtual London Marathon and can honestly say it was one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of my life. The journey that it took me on had a profound impact on me and became part of my story and testimony to escaping an abusive marriage and finding freedom and hope. 26.2 has become to mean more than the distance of a marathon for me. It took 26 months and 2 weeks, to the minute for my marathon journey to freedom to end.
I was also really encouraged and blessed by the generous donations that were made to Restored when I decided to set up a fundraising page for the charity just a few weeks before I ran the London Marathon back in October 2021. Restored has become to mean a great deal to me, not only as a survivor who has benefitted from the Restored survivor network, but because it is a charity that I am in awe of for what it is doing to stand up against violence towards women and domestic abuse, whilst equipping people in positions of authority, including the church, to be able to respond well. At the end of 2022 I was humbled and privileged to become a Trustee.
