Story

Elfyn was an incredible man who dedicated more than 50 years of his life to
rugby, he had such a passion for the sport that when you spoke to him you would
also fall in love with the sport.

As a founder member of Willenhall RUFC, Elfyn along with the other members
worked tirelessly from the foundation of the club in 1966 to eventually find a
permanent home on Bognop Road in Essington in 1972. Since then Elfyn has held
many committee roles covering everything up Chairman and President.

Elfyn was also a very active member of the Staffordshire CB, with
significant roles in coaching and also serving as the president from 2002-2004.

Elfyn received many awards and recognition for all his hard work and
commitment and in 2017 Elfyn was awarded a BEM (British Empire Medal) for his
dedication of voluntary work to rugby.

Elfyn was very well know and appreciated by so many throughout his years in
rugby. Many have learnt from him and they have achieved many things thanks to
his mentoring. He will be missed very dearly by so many.
