Story
I was lucky enough to get a ballot place for the Virgin London Marathon 2015 and, whilst running 26.2 miles is in itself a massive personal challenge, I wanted to make the challenge even bigger by raising money for charity.
Amser Justin Time is a small but hardworking charity that is striving to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer here in Wales. This fantastic charity was set up by a close family friend after she lost her husband, Justin Smith, to pancreatic cancer in September 2007.
Pancreatic cancer has the poorest prognosis of all solid tumours with a 5-year survival rate of less than 5%. Hope for improved patient prognosis lies in early detection. The money raised by Amser Justin Time provides care and support for pancreatic cancer patients and their families in Wales, as well as funding essential medical research to better understand this disease. All donations gratefully received.
