The Jacob Abraham Foundation has helped a very close friend of mine after she lost both of her sons to suicide in 2017.
Matt was 20 years old; he was studying Medicine in Manchester and had just completed his first year. Matt was bright, funny, friendly and lively which is why it came as such a devasting blow when his loving family unit were told in January 2017 that he had committed
suicide.
Everyday thereafter was a struggle, trying to come to terms with why Matt had done this, why didn't he talk to us or let his friends know he was struggling?
Slowly and painfully the family started to learn to live without Matt, but no one realised how much their youngest son Tom was struggling to come to terms with his big brother's death whom he idolised - in October 2017 Tom took his own life, he was 15 years of age.
The Jacob Abraham Foundation has helped this family to adjust to a new way of living without their beautiful sons, they support individuals who are having suicidal thoughts, they support families who are grieving to rebuild their lives. In addition to this they offer training and advise to companies and schools to help them recognise when someone is suffering with their mental health.
