I have been accepted to go on a volunteer placement with the International Citizen Service (ICS) programme with Tearfund. ICS is a development programme that brings together young people aged 18-25 to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed the most.

In January 2014, I will be going to Nyamagabe, Rwanda for 10 weeks, with a team from the UK and in-country volunteers. The project that I will be involved in could include teaching in schools, helping the community to develop agricultral skills, and educating the community about nutrition and hygiene. Tearfund ICS programme also works closely with the local church.
