On 12 August 2020, it will have been exactly ten years since my beloved step-grandpa passed away. My childhood memories with 'Ercu Dede' are among the best, and I can't think of a better way of honouring the memory of this amazing person than raising funds for a cause he would have deeply cared about. As a medical doctor and general surgeon, he was one of the best in Turkey and saved many lives. As a professor, he trained many who continue to save lives today. As a grandpa, he was full of love and fun.
