Story
As many of you know in 2011 at the age of 15 I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I underwent an operation to remove part of a tumour which led to me losing feeling in half of my neck (which to this day I still have no feeling) and chemotherapy.
Thankfully in March 2012 I was declared in remission! (4 years cancer free this year wooo!). Cancer is a horrible disease and as a teenager not something you would ever imagine having to deal with!
Thankfully there are amazing charities such as Teens Unite, that help us young people both during our battles and during our journeys now life after treatment has finished. Charities like Teens Unite give us amazing opportunities to meet other young people who know exactly how we feel and make us feel a bit more normal (ha!).
I have been lucky enough to have been given an amazing opportunity to give something back to Teens Unite, and from the 1st-9th of October 2016 I will be joining a team cycling 350 km across Sri Lanka through misty highlands and tea plantations, dense jungles and national parks until we reach our final destination; the Maha Oya Elephant sanctuary. The cycling will take place over 6 days with the average cycling distance being 60 km per day!
Teens Unite help young people aged 13-24 both during and after treatment! Please sponsor me and allow amazing charities like Teens Unite to continue to support young people like me and help us come to terms with our diagnosis both during and after our treatment has finished
