Story
It really did happen. On Sunday the 11th August I fell out of a plane for the charity Canine Partners. The experience exceeded my expectations as have the donations. We have collected over £1500.00 through Justgiving and I have another £150.00 in cash and cheques from people who weren't able to use the internet. So a very big thank you to you all. I will be posting photos and writing up the experience on my blog www.eileenauld.blogspot.co.uk. No doubt sharing a few thoughts on face book too! Today I am getting my head around that the leap of faith really, really did happen!
As for last week's news... I have almost forgotten how the skydive didn't happen on Saturday the 3rd of August due to very, very high winds! Have rebooked for the weekend of the 11th August so fingers crossed that the wind dies down and the rain stays away. Rest assured I will keep going to the venue until I get the skydive done and dusted...
... and although I was disappointed at the cancelled skydive, I am delighted to see that we are still moving the initial target of £1000.00 ever upwards. I say we because I couldn't have done it without you! However let's not stop as every penny helps people live more independent lives. Whether it is people like my friend Zoe with a disability from birth or others who have been injured while serving their country or people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thanks to you all for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page...and as many of you know Zoe Maclean and her wonderful companion Remus, you will know why I am taking on this challenge. For one day I am facing a challenge that is not only pushing my boundaries but challenging my level of courage. Zoe does this everyday of her life. She faces each day of challenge and adversity with a smile and is an example of grace and poise in the face of adversity. Her Canine Partner, Remus had made her life more independent and more pleasurable... something many of us take for granted.
