Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page to see what all the fuss is about...
Allow me to set the scene...
September 2014, a bond forged in lycra, 9 nutcases set off from Whitehaven with the intention of cycling across the country in 2 days. All the mud, sweat, and gears paid off because they accomplished what they saw to be an impossible task. The tragedy is, they loved every second of it.
After the overwhelming success of last year, we have decided to take it up a notch and attempt to cycle from Edinburgh to Newcastle in 2 days...yes you heard me right, 170 miles in 48 hours.
This year, our efforts are in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer, either directly, or indirectly at some point in their life. That is a scary statistic. Macmillan Cancer Support is there for whoever needs them, be it patient, or relative. Macmillan are a community that stretches across this nation being whoever and whatever they need to be, from diagnosis, to treatment, and beyond.
Any donation, be it big or small, will really make a great difference to the millions of people affected by cancer everyday.
This year, the lycra clad nutcases are;
Andy Hierons, Andy Slavin, Christine Ennis, Christopher Starr, Jasmine Fairbrother-Adams, Jenna O'Malley, John Jeffery, Lee Claypole, Pete Waters, Steve Nullis and Trevor Jones.
And of course, every team needs a top notch support crew. This year we have;
Adam Albiston, Steve Downs, Ricci Alves and Richard Essex.
We are the Edina Cyclepaths. We are all Macmillan.
**Please note that all cyclists are putting their bottom on the line for charity...quite literally...being saddle sore is not pleasant.
