Story
Update: Sadly Callum had to pull out of London Marathon due to injury, but will be on track to do Ironman.
Ed completed the London Marathon in 3.15hrs, with temperatures reaching 24 degrees - great training for Nice, France.
The last few months have been grueling, however the 100+km bike rides, countless lengths of pool and 5am starts are starting pay off. The challenge, whist enormous, is becoming more achievable week by week. So we hope to do you all proud
We have three goals:
- Run the London Marathon (22nd April) -- DONE --
- Complete Nice Ironman - 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, 26.2 mile marathon (June 24th). -- DONE --
- Raise over £5,000 for Leukaemia Care with your help.. so nearly there!
A little bit about why we're doing this:
Ed's cousin suffered from a type of Leukaemia after having already battled against cancer when she was younger, and thanks to the amazing care, treatment and a strong support network, she was able to over come it.
Sadly this is not the case for everyone and we are proud to be raising as much money as we can for this incredible charity.
Dealing with a serious illness is traumatic enough on its own, but having the right information and being around others who have been through a similar journey can be invaluable. As part of the work they do, Leukaemia CARE provide local cancer support groups and advice to patients, carers and their families. They also organise a one to one buddy support service with someone who understands what the patients or families are going through.
Please give what you can, so that Leukaemia CARE can keep doing the amazing work in supporting anyone affected by blood cancer.
