Main Sponsor Bentley Manchester

Jon Crossley of Bentley Manchester has been fantastic and donated £500. He has also supplied cycling shirts and shorts with the Company logo printed on them.

My name is Duncan Evans i am 53 years old. I'm going to cycle 993 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats and raise as much money as i can for the Bob Champion Testicular & Prostate Cancer Trust. So please dig deep and make a donation.

I have had quite a different life to a lot of people, i've managed to have good health all my life.

I have been a champion golfer and represented my Country and the GB&I. I won The Amateur Championship in 1980 and played Walker Cup in 1981 for GB&I against USA. I also won the BBC Sports Personality Award of Wales in 1980.

I've have been convicted of money laundering and served a prison sentence for my offence. I was released from prison last August.

That experience has made me a better person, i have become more considerate, more thoughtful towards others, more humble and certainly less greedy. I lost 20 kilo in weight and wanted to keep it off, i watched the Tour du France last July and decided that cycling could be the best sport and exercise that i could do to maintain my new weight. I have become quite obsessive with cycling and i cycle almost every day, i may only cycle 25 miles or i may cycle 80 miles, but i find it very rewarding and good fun and i've kept my weight the same. I have not felt this fit in 25 years.

That's enough about me and i hope my honesty about my conviction does not deter you from making a donation to this fantasic charity.

My wife's father died last year of prostate cancer, although Wendy (my wife) hadn't been close to her father Don for a number of years, it was still a shock to hear he had died of this terrible cancer.

My uncle died a few years ago of prostate cancer and he was a man in his sixties with a lovely family and it was a great loss. He had always had regular blood tests once a year for prostate cancer. He then moved home and location and his GP only screened blood tests once every two years. Unfortunatley he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and it was in a quite agressive state and he didn't survive very long and he passed away.

I would like you to make a generous  donation as you possibly can and help this great Bob Champion Trust.
