About Dream renewables

Dream renewables is a collective of volunteers aiming to encourage locally led renewable energy initiatives in ghana through interactive education in engineering and entrepreneurship. In August 2019 We ran our first intensive 4 week course on renewable energy for young adults in Dzita, Ghana. 

We received excellent feedback from the participants, and the programme is already realised tangible impact. Therefore, we are planning to run a similar course in the same location in 2020. 

The 2020 programme

Dream Renewables 2020 programme will offer 4 week intensive and practical introduction to Solar Power. It will provide students with an overview of the solar energy industry in Ghana and introduce the fundamental concepts behind the design of solar energy systems, including both engineering and

business

 aspects. This year's course will run from the 17th of August until the 11th of September. 

The programme will be delivered by our team of dedicated volunteers from Ghana and the UK, with the help of local teachers with expertise in entrepreneurship and engineering. The programme will consist of three elements;

• Practical workshops and lessons which will ensure students develop a solid foundation of basic energy theory.
• Mini projects where students will design energy systems for the local community.
• Business models and industrial and commercial engagement which will introduce students to the solar PV market in Ghana.
