Story
This summer I'm kayaking around Britain raising money for Action 4 Diabetes, a UK-registered charity that supports disadvantaged children in South East Asia with T1D.
EDIT: I DID IT! After 40 days of paddling, I finished on 11th June, setting a new world record!

I was diagnosed with T1D in 2019. Although it can be frustrating to manage at times, I have free access on the NHS to the best insulin and clever technology like insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
Insulin has been used to keep people with T1D alive for over 100 years yet all around the world people die from this disease. All they need is insulin. Death by T1D is simply horrendous - without insulin, the body can't absorb sugar so starts stripping away at fat and cannibalizing organs. In effect, you starve.
A4D is changing the situation by supplying insulin and education to nearly 1000 children across 9 countries in SE Asia.
I started this fundraising page for Action 4 Diabetes in 2021 when I set off on my kayak for an adventure with no destination, which would turn out to be a 5500km epic around Europe. Since then I've completed the insulin360 challenge - riding mountain bikes 360kms across the Alps with A4D co-founder Jerry Gore and I've raced the 'kayaker's Everest' - the 125-mile non-stop Devizes to Westminster kayak race.
