Story
On the 5th December 2007 our lives changed forever. Every year since we've got together in December to remember Jonny and celebrate his life. Sadly this year, pesky COVID has put a spanner in the works.....
One of Jonny's closest friends AJ was quick to suggest a sponsored cycle, run, or walk (spot the Iron Man!). Panicked at the thought of physical exertion, I managed to dismiss his thinly veiled attempt to get me to move off the couch by reminding him that social distancing rules would prohibit such a wholesome activity! Instead, like any normal, aging, over-weight, functioning alcoholic I suggested the next best thing......a virtual pub quiz!
So join us at 7pm on the 5th December for a Family Quiz Night. As well as testing your brain power, we'll be holding an online raffle, having a sing-a-long with the musical maestro that is Rob Jones, and we'll also be running an on-line auction.....
All proceeds from the event will go to the When You Wish Upon a Star foundation - a charity that was close to Jonny's heart. Like all charities, they've been hit incredibly hard this year - the majority of fundraising events have been cancelled, 120 'wishes' granted to children with life threatening illnesses have had to be put on hold and the charity predict that their income will be down by £500,000. Whilst our £500 is a mere drop in the ocean, it's still an incredible way for us to give back in the memory of Jonny.
We appreciate that this year has been difficult for many people. Unlike previous years we wont be asking for a minimum donation to - if you can afford it, please dig deep and donate. If you cant, we completely understand, but please join us anyway on the night of the 5th to raise a glass or two celebrate Jonny's life with us.....
