My name is Diego Cruz. As a native Spanish speaker with speech difficulties, I would have never dared to speak in public when I was younger. These past two years, Harper has given me a home where I can tackle public speaking and debate alongside some of the coolest and most extraordinary people I have ever met. 

Every year, for the past two decades, the Harper Speech & Debate Team proudly represents our community college in the national tournament against some of the best teams in the nation. This year the national tournament is in Albuquerque. This tournament always means the world to us because they are an opportunity to create lifelong friendships, learn new ideas, and demonstrate the communication skills our team has practiced all year long. However, this year we are going to need some financial help to get there.  

With your help, the Harper Speech & Debate team can afford to travel, room, and be fed during this tournament. As community college students we are just trying to make ends meet. Any contribution will be appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.

We couldn't do this without you. We will keep you updated. So we hope to speak our hearts out, take full advantage of this experience, and make you proud.
