Story
I am a young person living with dementia and I support others who are diagnosed to live well with dementia in Westminster. However I live in Brent and would like to help my local community and want to set up peer support. I have recently been involved in setting up a new charity Community Action on Dementia Brent (CAD Brent) and we aim to make the whole Borough dementia friendly. As we are a new Charity we don't have a just giving page yet so Ashford place has kindly offered to receive payments on our behalf and transfer monies into the CAD Charity account.
I was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 47 and have been living with this disability for two years now, I speak at conferences, deliver training to professionals, I support my peers to live well in the community. I am working on Brent being dementia friendly Please support me.
The money will be spent on projects such as setting up peer support for people living with dementia in Brent, London.
We will keep you informed of our work through our newsletters, Facebook and twitter on the various activities we will develop. Please support me to set up my first project - peer support in Brent.
